Imagine if you knew how to find the path

The Holistic Artist: THRIVE

WITH DR KATY ABBOTT

Imagine if you knew how to walk the path to a meaningful career based on your terms

Not only that, you knew what the signposts along the way were telling you. And you had a big ol’ bucket of paint to rewrite them, if you decide to.

The truth is, you do already know how to tackle the mountainous terrain that is your inner self

You just can’t read the topography. Yet.

You have an inner compass. It’s never wrong. It never breaks. It doesn’t align with any other magnetic pull besides that of your soul

I know this is true because you’re a human. An empathetic one. And humans (especially those of us that feel) have something magical some of us hardly ever use but never goes away:

Intuition

Like any muscle, it gets stronger the more we use it. It shows us how to make deliberate, considered decisions. It tells us the actuality of what we really desire.

All we have to do is listen to it.

Instead, we’re bombarded with the noise of life – the external needs of people we love, the requirements on our time to make a living, build a career, launch a business, start a family, say “yes” to things we dearly wish to say “no, thanks” to, to seek out the criticism and let it get us bogged down – and all that noise solidifies into a seemingly enormous, cacophonous mountain. A giant hurdle we can’t see over, can’t dig under, and can’t plot our way around.

Without help.

Imagine having a friend with a map. And a torchlight. Possibly a large water bottle and a packet of sultanas, all with your name on them.

Someone who knows your intuition is in there, and who can show you how to use it to read the signposts, and clamber your way over peak – knowing you want to get to what’s on the other side. (Psst: I’m that friend.)

Your personal mountain is waiting to be conquered.

Right now you’re stuck. But we’ll use your toolbox full of intuitive knowing to leverage you out and get you on your next big adventure

‘I feel like I’m waking up’

Luisa, pianist and visual artist

Introducing

The Holistic Artist: Thrive – curating a vibrant, joyful and sustainable career on your terms.

An intuition course carefully delivered for perfectionists, people pleasers, and those currently ‘stuck’ so they can wade out of the mud of being stuck and pull their hiking boots on, knowing absolutely what journey they want to go on next

The Holisitc Artist has been created to block out the noise from the rest of the world and listen, really listen, to your own song. It shows you how to find your path, read the signposts, and deliberately plan a course from one side of your particular obstacle to the other side.

I’m ready, show me where to get on the waitlist

The Holistic Artist is delivered in an easy-to-use course platform with lifetime access and includes 4 modules, with multiple videos, 2 live coaching calls over 6 weeks. We also have a private Facebook group, and you’ll have access to all the course materials ongoing.

But, why work with me?

A career in composing has equipped me with the true knowing of how to listen. Listen to the people I work with, the people I coach, and to listen to what you are really up against. It’s hardly ever an actual mountain, but often a way scarier thing – perfectionism, criticism, envy, and a yearning to reclaim the zing life once had.

Think of me as your tour guide through an expedition you’re terrified to take the first step towards. But that’s OK, because I’ve done it before.

I’ve developed an entire career and now a whole-hearted artistic practice without sacrificing myself in the process.

I will teach you how to learn to listen to your own intuition, accessing your own state of flow, and what to do if the signposts direct you in a way you know you don’t want to go.

It’s time to get unstuck and find your own knowing

The Holistic Artist will teach you to:

  • Block out unnecessary criticism, the need to people-please, overthink, over analyse, soak up other people’s expectations, and constant striving for perfection
  • Find your own path and problem solve along the adventure
  • Deliberately and purposefully scrap the BS noise of busy lives
  • Set boundaries and know the way forward through any trial – from discovering a creative zing to changing careers
  • Go from big picture and emotions to mapping out practical and technical solutions when you need
  • Find clarity about your life, your creativity, and your soul’s desire and
  • Be completely comfortable with being uncomfortable. Trust me, it’s a beautiful spot!

If you’re finally waking up. If you find yourself asking “what’s it all about?” If you’re unsure where to start…

I know exactly where to begin.

‘Katy has a rare talent of being able to combine warmth, humour and wisdom into transformative teaching moments.  She instils confidence and excitement from the moment you meet her – I highly recommend this course for anyone who is ready (or wants to be ready) to step in to their creativity and create change for themselves’.

Carol Sandiford, Psychologist

You can hurdle over that mountain very soon….

And it doesn’t matter what you do for a living, this course isn’t about your title. Join our pianists, visual artists, sound-artists, writers, product developers and the choir of other fabulous souls who’ve learned how to navigate a unique pathway  – their own way.

I’m ready to take that first step

Hi, I’m Dr Katy Abbott – a classical composer who has had my pieces played and performed all over the world. I’ve also had times where I’ve struggled for inspiration, gotten stuck on an idea, or just flat-out didn’t trust myself to take the correct path. Which is why I created Dinner For Breakfast. I know the stuck-ness sucks, and I’ve learnt how to pick my brain for the answers that already exist in there. Now I dig into the minds of others, and with my group coaching, 1:1 consulting, and self-paced course, I’ll have you lacing up your hiking boots with glee and joyfully taking up some time for yourselves. Finally.

The Holistic Artist course is not just for artists and creatives, but for any human who looks around, finds themselves a bit lost, and is ready to stop hiding and accept a helping hand

If you’re exhausted from giving, you never speak up to ask for anything for yourself, you’re tired of being riddled with perfectionism, that constant people pleasing isn’t pleasing you anymore, it’s time to take the first step.

In keeping with Dinner For Breakfast’s ethos and honesty: self-paced courses don’t suit everyone. It might not be for you.

FAQ’s

How can a composer be helpful in a non-musical artistic practice or even more obscure, a start-up business?

Composers are skilled at looking at the macro and the micro together in order to create works that have a cohesive structure, while handling the nuance and complexity at a micro level. Think of it as a zoom out / zoom in idea in a similar way an author would write a novel – structuring the larger work whilst combining detail and development of plot, characters and pacing.

This, combined with almost 30 years teaching from high school through to postgraduate students and mentoring in the Australian arts industry, being a parent of three teens, and creating her own sustainable practice, Katy’s unique approach will illuminate the issues, challenge your assumptions and help you realise your goals in a way that is authentic to you.

What is Katy’s point of difference in helping me move forward?

Katy’s superpower is breaking down complex situations into the essence of things and combining a human perspective on an artistic or business issue. She brings forth the neglected perspectives in a discussion, then provides the space for examination and expression so the resulting ideas are practical. Katy believes in sustainable practices—that ‘life is long’ and her methodologies are tailored to you and your long-term visions.

Are the sessions live or recorded and what if I’m in a different time zone?

The 4 teaching modules are recorded and released on the first day of each week. They consist of a series of short videos. The two zoom coaching calls are live and intend to answer your specific questions.  Don’t worry if you’re in a different time zone – the calls are scheduled to work to accommodate as many time zones as possible. The coaching calls are recorded and available the next day to watch ‘on demand’ for those unable to make it. We understand the complexities of daily life.

How long do I have access to the course? And can I keep the course materials?

Yes, you sure can. You can download documents but even better, you will always have access to the membership portal and the online videos will remain here for you for the lifetime of this course. Happy days.

What happens if I change my mind? Can I have a refund?

Firstly, don’t do that to yourself. You deserve better than to panic and back away. This is lifetime access to these course materials. If you get the wobblies after you’ve signed up, take a breath, and come back to it another day.

Officially, if you find your life circumstances have dramatically changed between the time you sign up and 14 days after that date, please email me at with your reason for requesting a cancellation and I’ll respond within 2 business days to let you know your refund has been approved. Once approved, an electronic refund will be issued (minus any payment gateway fees) within 14 working days from the date of approval.

At all times I will abide by the Australian Consumer Law in relation to any guarantees for my services.

I’ve already packed my broad rimmed hat and a notebook, let’s go through that mountain!
